We are happy to publish the minor release PDFCreator 1.2.3 today. It includes an updated Ghostscript, extended versions of Images2PDF and the pdfforge.dll and some minor fixes.
Hi, just installed this version on Windows 2008 Server using the Server option.
There was no install option for Windows 2008
In Task Manager, the PDFCreator.exe process is appended with *32. This indicates that PDFCreator Print Monitor has been compiled for 32 bit. Not sure if the fact that the 32 bit on 64 bit Windows 2008 is the reason it is not working as well as on 32 bit Windows 2003.
I have created a vbscript to process the pdf jobs using the "RunProgramAfterSavingProgramname" option. No problem on 32-bit Windows 2003. On 64-bit Windows 2008, PDFCreator does not call the vbscript.
Test setup:
(1) Windows Task Schedule: launch pdfcreator.exe with the option file.
(2) Windows Task Schedule: Create a testprint job to creat pdf while not logged on server.
Next day, the pdf files are created but not handled by the vbscript.
However, seems to work after many manual retests but only for that day. Next day, ran (2), not processed again.
yes, it looks like a link. But as there are no link information, when the ppt is printed (what would a printer want with it?) PDFCreator has to guess if it is a link. And if it continues on the next line, it very hard or impossible to find out if it should continue as link or not. So this explains the behaviour, but there is nothing we can do about it for now.

Thanks for the quick responce.
since the URL is long, it is shown in 2 lines in my PPT.
When i make the PPT into PDF, the PDF file shows the FULL URL correctly in 2 lines like PPT. but when I move mouse cursor above the link in PDF file, i can see that it is truncated and of course, i can't open the URL by click.
I would like to move further discussions on bugs into the forum. Regarding the URL bug: is the link truncated somewhere in the middle of a line or does this happen on line breaks? As PDFCreator tries to detect links (they are omitted when printing), it is very hard to detect them properly.

dear !
I am the fan of PDF Creator and using it for a long time. many thanks !!
Just one bug that i found recently.
When the URL address is longer than 75 or 80 characters,PDFCreator can't open the link. From the look, it looks fine but when I move the cursor over the link, I can see that URL is truncated and it doesn't open the link.
I just updated from 1.2.0 to 1.2.3 - and it deleted all of my PDFcreator printers, but not my profiles. The 1.2.1 notes said that the uninstaller had been improved so as not to touch the printers. Did the 1.2.0 to 1.2.3 upgrade use the 1.2.0 uninstaller? That would explain it. Otherwise, there may be a regression in 1.2.3, because the upgrade ate the printers.
Problem when Using AutoSave and UseAutosaveDirectory via COM no PDF is saved in my case. With Version 1.2.2 everything worked perfect, so i switched back.
First let me thank all those involved in this project, I truly love PDFCreator and use it daily at work. Thank you.
With that said I wanted to make the powers that be aware of the fact that this recent release does not play nice with "pdftk" (aka PDF Toolkit). My steps were as follows:
1) printed document to PDF
2) using "pdftk" I tried to attach a file to the recently printed PDF
NOTE: I was using "pdftk" in Linux (Fedora 15 64-bit).
An error occured at this point and the result was a corrupted PDF file. I apologize for the fact that I do not have the Error message that I was receiving however if you download "pdftk" and try to attach a file to a PDF that was generated using version 1.2.3 of PDFCreator you will most likely get the error message I received.
I have had to revert back to 1.2.2 inorder to get "pdftk" to play nice again with whatever it is that I want to do to the generated PDF.
I also apologize for the fact that I am posting a bug report in a blog. I figure it's useful information no matter what.

Hello,
I would like to move further discussions on bugs into the forum. Regarding the URL bug: is the link truncated somewhere in the middle of a line or does this happen on line breaks? As PDFCreator tries to detect links (they are omitted when printing), it is very hard to detect them properly.
kind regards,

Re: PDFCreator 1.2.3 released
Yes, the uninstaller of the installed version is used, so you had the last setup that would remove the printers. The next update will not do so.

Philip

Re: PDFCreator 1.2.3 released
The "Option" window is too big on netbooks (res. 1024x600), and it's impossible resize it.
Could you reduce its size, or make it resizeable, please?
It's impossible to see and use the 3 buttons (Cancel, Save.....)
Thanks
Beppe
